Here is what a couple of my friends said 1) one of the best programs in the nation for political science is Wellesley College. It's the best for liberal arts colleges and universities from my knowledge. I think Yale has a comparable program. 2) Michigan State's James Madison is an excellent small liberal arts college within one of the largest universities in the country. I would definetly recommend anyone interested in political science to consider Michigan State's James Madison. 3) georgetown 4) schools on west coast that have good politcal science programs: Stanford, Berkeley, UCLA, USC, Pomona College, Claremont McKenna College, Harvey Mudd College, Scripps College 5) George Washington University - home of Crossfire on CNN, and adjunct profs who double as commentators on CNN and MSNBC. Incredibe opportunities to intern in DC at numerous government agencies. 6) Spartan - Are you sure about Harvey Mudd? I thought they were primarily a science, engineering, and math college. I checked their website and the only majors listed were math, science, and engineering. They do have a department of humanities and social sciences but no professors of political science. They may have some good courses in areas related to political science but it appears that all of the social science courses are designed to provide a well-rounded education to engineering-science majors. 7) Harvey Mudd is mostly science. Also, American is crap. Besides the fact that it is in DC, it has nothing going for it. George Washington is better, and Georgetown better still. Personally I think that Georgetown is probably the best school in the country for political science because it has an excellent program (it's called "government" instead of "political science" at Georgetown) AND it's in DC. If you want to study poli sci on a more theoretical or international level (in other words, if experience in Washington isn't that important for you) then obviously schools like Princeton or Stanford would be best. Hope this helps!! Sorry.

Here are all the colleges in California with film production/cinematography majors: Academy of Art University Allan Hancock College Antelope Valley College Art Center College of Design Art Institute of California: Los Angeles Biola University Brooks Institute California College of the Arts California Institute of the Arts California State University: Long Beach Chapman University City College of San Francisco College of San Mateo College of the Canyons Cosumnes River College De Anza College Grossmont College Los Angeles City College Los Angeles Valley College Loyola Marymount University Modesto Junior College Moorpark College Orange Coast College Pacific Union College Pitzer College San Francisco Art Institute Scripps College Southwestern College University of California: Santa Barbara Vanguard University of Southern California Those are all decent schools, but if you really want to be a film major I would probably suggest a school such as the American Film Institute or New York University. Both have excellent reputations for film. I didn't find any schools in Hawaii that have film programs, I don't believe any of them do... Best of luck!

I want to take a Farsi class somewhere near Irvine, CA and I was wondering if there was any place I could take it and still get credits for school. Would a college work?

Question: Do colleges like Harvard, Yale and Stanford have nicer dorm rooms than other schools?
I go to a huge state university and the dorm rooms are so gross. Everybody can't wait to move off campus. What are dorm rooms like at Ivy League schools and expensive private colleges?

There are some great dorms at public unis, and great dorms at privates. It really depends on the school, not on whether its private or public. And then within each school, there may be some gross dorms, and then some *amazing* dorms. However, colleges where the dorms are amazing, across the board (not just 1-2 nice dorms, but all dorms are fabulous): Smith, Bryn Mawr, Bennington, Olin College of Engineering, Loyola Maryland, Bowdoin, Washington U in St. Louis, George Washington U, Scripps College, Claremont McKenna, Skidmore, U Missouri, Middlebury, Yale, Trinity U (TX), Yale, Bentley, Rice, Harvard, Hamilton, Kennesaw State U, Mt. Holyoke, Pepperdine, Wellesley, St. Thomas Aquinas, Williams, Stanford, Agnes Scott College, UCLA, Barnard. Most of those are not Ivys. Not all of them are private. And even within colleges where I can't say all the dorms are that nice, there are usually some that are. IMO, the coolest are at Smith. It's very old school - there are formal dining halls in each residence hall, you eat with your dorm, formal meals - very cool. And the architecture is very nice. But all of those have things that are great - amazing closets, fabulous views, nice space... heck, Flagler College's dorms, as are Emersons, are old luxury hotels. Flagler's have Tiffany glass windows and fireplaces. Cool, hunh? But how important is that to you? If your school is of good quality and you're getting a bargain there by getting low, in-state tuition - well, then if the place has sucky dorms, so be it. It's not all about the dorms, even if it is cool to dream...
