Question: What are some good colleges in the south?

I live in Maine and I am thinking about going to school down south. I want to major in either occupational or physical therapy. I don't think I want to go to a school in the deep south but somewhere like Kentucky, Tennessee or Virginia. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good schools in those areas or close to it. Thanks!

Question: What is a good school to go to if I plan to double major in Psychology and Photojournalism?

Psychology is a degree offered at most universities, while Photojournalism is highly unusual. Therefore, I would look at schools which have Photojournalism programs and pick one which has the best overall reputation as a school (you can find that in U.S. News & World Reports Rankings). Check to make sure they have a Psychology department, and you will have a good program (and if you decide to change your major, you would still be safe because of the overall reputation of the school). I looked on NPPA's website, and found the following Photojournalism programs (I also found an article saying that the one at the University of Texas may shut down, so be careful): Abilene (TX) Christian University Advisor: Cade White 915-674-2295 American University School of Communication Advisor: Prof. Bill Gentile 202-885-2663 Arkansas State University Advisor: Jack Zibluk 870-972-3075 NPPA chapter Ball State University Advisor: Tom Price 765-285-8205 NPPA chapter Baylor University Advisor: Clark Baker 254-710-6345 Boston University Director: Peter Southwick 617 353-3463 Brooks Institute of Photography Advisor: Joe Gosen 888-304-FILM NPPA chapter California State Polytechnic University, Pomona Advisor: Jenni Kolsky 909-869-5291 California State University, Fresno Advisor: Greg Lewis 559-278-4718 California State University, Fullerton NPPA chapter Colorado State University Advisor: Larry Steward 970-491-1781 Columbia College Advisor: John H. Question: What is a college that helps people with asperger's syndrome?

And with the class subjects they have problems in.

I found this list for you, it is a list of colleges that have mentioned that they have experience with Asperger's students and/or programs to help them. I found this while looking for a college for my 17 year old Aspie son. He has applied to several colleges in the San Francisco Bay Area, where we live, and each of these colleges has a department set up that provides services for Asperger's students. He is applying to St. Mary's College, USF and Cal State East Bay. This link is to a site written and maintained by a college professor who has Asperger's himself, and it includes some reviews of specific colleges that have experience dealing with Asperger's: http://www.professorsadvice.com The best bet may still be to draw up a list of schools that meet the student's needs in other ways, and then contact the disabilities services director directly to ask if they have experience with Asperger's. Here is the list Albion C (MI) Augsberg Clark U (MA) Curry (MA) Earlham Elon University (NC) Guilford College (NC) (multiple recommendations) Goucher College (MD) Harvey Mudd Landmark College (2 mentions) Loyola (MD) Manhattanville (NY) Mitchell College (CT) Moravian C (PA) Muskingum (several counselors suggested this) Northeastern U (MA) Schreiner University (Kerrville, Texas) Southern Illinois (contact Roger Pugh) Trent University (Peterborough, Ontario) U Arizona U Central Florida (Orlando) U Denver U Illinois-Champaign U Mass-Boston U Montevallo-Alabama U Ozarks U Puget Sound U Rochester (NY) Westminster C (MO) Whitman Wilkes University (PA) Worcester Poly In addition there is a program called the College Living Experience in Florida that can help. Some counselors also suggested the K & W Guide for Students With Learning Disabilities. Good luck to you! Lady Morgana
