Question: What are some colleges or universities with great undergraduate philosophy programs?
I'm really interested in studying philosophy in college, and I can't find anything except the philosophical gourmet discussion (which is really vague, and anyhow, I'd like to have a second opinion). In a strange twofer, if you also happen to know some great colleges or universities for agriculture, specifically with organic crops, that would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

Question: What colleges offer a degree in archaeology?
Looking for a college that offers a degree in archaeology somewhere in the northeast...I hope. Any colleges would be helpfull. For anyone else who answeres: I may be young, but am not a woman...I think my paramedic education covered the difference... My grades were average and my ACT scors were...not so good. I will be relying heavily on my charming personality, essay writing abilities and my credentials as a paramedic at the age of 20.

Bard College (NY) Boston University (MA) Bowdoin College (ME) Bridgewater State College (MA) Brown University (RI) Bryn Mawr College (PA) CUNY: Hunter College (NY) Cornell University (NY) Columbia University (NY) Dickinson College (PA) Hamilton College (NY) Harvard University (MA) Haverford College (PA) Lycoming College (PA) SUNY Potsdam (NY) Tufts University (MA) Wellesley College (MA) Wesleyan University (CT) Yale University (CT) If you are a young woman with outstanding SAT scores, and an interest in a single-sex school, I'd strongly suggest Bryn Mawr. If you have outstanding SAT scores, and are not interested in a single-sex school, I'd suggest you take close looks at Bowdoin, Brown, Columbia, Harvard, Haverford, and Yale. If you don't test well, or if your grades are but average, the schools on this list that are less selective are Bridgewater State, Lycoming, and SUNY Potsdam.

Question: How do I go about finding information on visas for out of country people?
I'm trying to bring a friend of mine to the US and he lives in the UK. I need to know websites of how to find the right information leading to get him here. He would like to get a GED which they do not supply in the UK. He didn't finish HS due to bad circumstances, they wouldn't let him finish HS as as elder student and now he cannot find work with out a diploma or having any experience. I would like to help him get here so he can get a GED and a job or possibly help him go on to college! I greatly appreciate any information you can give me on visas for education, visitor or work to pass on to him so he may apply and we can get him here by this fall. Thanks in advance!!!

I think he can make the GED test online www.affordabledegrees.com/ADA/hp.asp#5b That is the first thing he should do. Then apply for a University that does not requiere an SAT or ACT tests. These colleges, all ranked in the top 100 liberal arts colleges in the US, have recently (or not-so-recently, in some cases) decided to make the SAT or ACT optional. Bard College, NY Bates College, ME Bennington College, NY Bowdoin College, ME Connecticut College, CT Dickinson College, PA Drew University, NJ Franklin and Marshall College, PA Gustavus Adolphus College, MN Hamilton College, NY Hampshire College, MA Hobart and William Smith Colleges, NY College of the Holy Cross, MA Juniata College, PA Knox College, IL Lawrence University, WI Lewis and Clark College, OR Middlebury College, VT Muhlenberg College, PA Mount Holyoke College, MA Pitzer College, CA St. Lawrence University, NY Sarah Lawrence College, NY Union College, NY Ursinus College, PA He will have to do that while he is in his country, He will get accepted in some or at least one that he applies, I would reccomend to apply for 4 colleges at least. It will cost you around $20 each to apply but it will be worth it. When he gets accepted, he will have to go to the United States embassy in his country and apply for a student visa. He can reapply as many times as he wants for a visa, sometimes it's take 2 or 3 times to get it. WISH YOU GOOD LUCK good luck
