Question: question about being an electrcian please help?

im going to college this winter quarter to be a electrical assistant, my goal is to become a licensed electrician. i was reading and it said after i become a "EA" i have to take something like electrical theory, and i had to have 144 hours of class room time and 2000 hours of on the job hours. where would i take this class at? what all would i have to do?

University of Alaska is pretty much it in the state of Alaska. There are some smaller technical training programs like The Alaska Vocational Technical Center (AVTEC) in Seward: http://avtec.labor.state.ak.us/ and there is Alaska Pacific University, very small liberal arts: http://www.alaskapacific.edu/Pages/default.aspx But really University of Alaska, http://www.alaska.edu/ and it has 3 main campuses Anchorage, http://www.uaa.alaska.edu/ Juneau, http://www.uas.alaska.edu/ and Fairbanks, http://www.uaf.edu/
