As always, someone here is willing to answer questions and just make stuff up that fits into their preconceived notion of how financial aid works. It is NOT true that technical schools in general, and cosmetology schools in particular are not eligible to participate in the Federal Student Aid system. If the other respondent's information is correct, schools like Mimi's Beauty Academy of Cosmetology in Huntsville, Alabama The Arizona Academy of Beauty in Tuscon, Arizona The Artistic Beauty Colleges (many Arizona locations) The Carsten Institute of Hair and Beauty in Tempe, Arizona The Charles of Italy Beauty College in Lake Havasu, Arizona The College of Beauty Arts and Sciences in Chandler, Arizona Earl's Academy of Beauty in Mesa, Arizona The Empire Beauty School in Avondale, Arizona The Maricopa Beauty College in Avondale, Arizona The Modern Techniques Beauty College in Lake Havasu, Arizona The Safford College of Beauty Culture in Safford, Arizona The Tuscon College of Beauty in Tuscon, Arizona The Turning Point Beauty College in Casa Grande, Arizona can just give up, and close their doors, and quit offering Federal Student Aid, because one of the respondents here says that they're not allowed to participate in the Aid program. If you are hoping for a grant to help you with the expenses of a beauty and cosmetology school in Michigan, you will need to choose a school that DOES participate in the Federal Student Aid program. There are several of them. There's the Adrian Beauty Academy, the Bayshire Beauty Academy, the Blue Water College of Cosmetology, the Chic University of Cosmetology, and many more. Here's a link to the list of every US school that participates in the Federal Student Aid program - you can search it by state, so just page down to about page 63, and you'll find the list of Michigan schools. http://ifap.ed.gov/fedschcodelist/attachments/FedSchoolCodeList1.pdf Each school will have its own information for you on how to go about applying for financial aid. Your quest will begin here: http://fafsa.ed.gov with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Good luck to you - I'm glad I was able to provide you with accurate information.

Question: At my secondary school, all of the pupils are split up into houses (read on)?

I don't mean dormitories. You know how Hogwarts is split up into Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff? It's like that, only with different names:) Each of the houses has a different colour which is on our school badge. This system doesn't apply to all UK schools though. I was just wondering, do some American schools have this system with the houses? Again, I don't mean dormitoies. Thanks!
