You already know about the Cooper Union, so that's good. Also look at: Olin College of Engineering, Alice Lloyd College (if you're from that region), Berea College, CUNY Teacher's Academy, College of the Ozarks, Curtis Institute of Music, Webb Institute. I've also heard that the Yale school of music is tuition free, if you can get in. In addition, if you don't mind having to do military service afterwards, all of the academies are free: US Naval Academy, US Military Academy, US Air Force Academy, etc. Another, related option is ROTC, and the ROTC scholarship. With that, you can go to any college in the US that offers ROTC. You apply for the ROTC scholarship, and if you get it, it pays your tuition. In exchange, you do military service. There's also the National Guard. There, you can be a full time student while also serving in the Guard, and they pay your tuition. Risk is you could get deployed. You also want to find out if your home state offers any sort of scholarships for students who do very well academically. For example, GA and FL offer free tuition to any public colleges in those states, if that's your home state, if you meet certain academic requirements. Mass. does the same if you get over a certain score on your SAT.
